KISUMU, MOMBASA, LAMU To become Free Trade Zones

The State is fast tracking the establishment of three Economic Zones (SEZ’s) in Kisumu, Mombasa , Lamu. The manufacturing facilities to be set up within these zones, including textile factories, are expected to create a million jobs yearly. Parliament is to be set up within these zones by the end of this month. In addition to providing land, tax holidays, duty free imports and waivers on value-added tax to potential clients, the  government is hoping that the zones will create 10 million jobs over the next 30 years. About 2000 sq km of land has already been set aside in Mombasa, Lamu and Kisumu for the project.

SEZs will have new levels of taxation and fewer regulatory hurdles and will focus primarily on industrial activity , in particular textile production. Industrialization and Enterprise Development Cabinet Secretary Adan Mohammed said early this year that the new economic zones will mainly target foreign textile firms from textile industries in Myanmar, China, Vietnam and South Africa Government Estimates the zones to be ready for investors in two to three years.

Kenya has a single free trade zone in Mombasa, aimed at boosting the manufacturer sector this is in addition to established Export Processing Zones (EPZ’s), which contribute $543 Million (Sh 46.1 Billion) to the economy last year. EPZ Authority Chief Executive Cyrill  Nabutola said the zones account for 10 Per Cent of Kenya’s exports – the bulk of which are textiles and are apparel sent to the U.S  As of 2012, garment manufacturers accounted for 29 per Cent of EPZ Companies, 56% of EPZ Exports and 30% of EPZ private investments.

The SEZs are expected to boost the country’s industrial output that has been experiencing steady growth in recent years. According to the Economic Survey 2013, the sector grew by 4.6% in the third quarter of last year, compared to 2.6% in the same quarter of 2012. Growth in the first second quarters in 2013 was 4.2 % and 4.3 % compared to 2.1% and 1.4% respectively in the previous years. World bank Estimates that value – added manufacturing focusing on food textiles machinery and chemical processing grew by 5% in 2013 compared to 3.3% in 2012.

Vision 2030 plans to transform Kenya into a middle –income State with manufacturing accounting for 20% of the GDP by 2030.

what Kalonzo Musyoka should and MUST do is to apologize to Kenyans for helping Kibaki in stealing Raila Odinga's victory in December 2007

I have scratched my head and couldn't find anything wrong with what Mr. Musyoka said. What he said is nothing but the truth of what is Kenya. Instead of condemning Kalonzo blanketly let's tell the Kikuyu to stop thinking that they own Kenya and must be at the top of the county's leadership milele na milele. The only thing that Kalonzo Musyoka should and MUST do is to apologize to Kenyans for helping Kibaki in stealing Raila Odinga's victory in December 2007. He must ask for forgiveness from Kenyans and repent.

A farmer orders an expensive milking machine. He decides to test it on himself first, so he inserts his manhood into the equipment and turns on the switch. Soon he realizes that the equipment provides him with more pleasure than his wife does. But when the fun is over, he realizes that he cannot remove the instrument from his tool, anxiously he reads the manual, but does not find any useful information. He tries every button on the instrument, without success. Finally, the farmer decides to call the customer hotline. ‘Hello, I just bought a milking cow machine from your company, It works fantastic, but how do I remove it from the cow’s udder?” ‘Don’t worry sir”, replies the customer service person, ”the machine will release automatically once it has collected two litres!”

JUST TO PROVE THE FACT ABOUT GEORGE ORICHO SAGA AND TO SHAME THESE WHO DON'T BELEAVE IT'S TRUE HERE ARE THE EMAIL CONVERSATION GEORGE WITH ESSAU

Dear George,
I am writing in response above. The reason why i paid you money(large
sum) is per the agreement i made with you in which you told me the
work would begin immediately and also to which you requested the money
to mobilize materials. If there was anything, you would have taken time
first and would have not promised what you can not deliver.
transaction was done that work will be done and there must always be
time frame for each activity.I can see you want to inform me that
subcontracting somebody was not in the term of contract and i would
wish to inform you that it cannot work as at now and that is why i
gave you(KAJULU) the job.I don't think you can subcontract for us if
indeed we have the full capacity to do it on our own.Unless otherwise
I would wish also to indicate that the breakage of the machine is non
of our business as that remains your responsibility. If you cannot move
to site, then the next thing is to refund back( Ksh 500,000) which had
been paid.Or else otherwise. We are not happy when you cant execute
your work and which prompts me to begin the legal process. And as you
may know, you will have to pay the interests earned by our money in
that case.
I can see you have indicated that you will start drilling by 8th or
9th and already i have informed my lawyer to summon you over the
contract breach, i will hold the letter with me till the end of the
day if you can confirm to me how much money you received from me for
the project and that you will begin the work on 8TH as you have
indicated. So the next thing i want to hear is only the two
terms.Kindly confirm that before the end of the day if it is the case.

I have not used any language in breach of our work, but if you feel so
then you can verify. And  you will realize i use the language in terms
of our contract which i can defend!

Best and kind regards
Essau

People First In Leadership kajulu you must read this

Leaders are nothing without people. Put another way, people will make or break you as a leader. You’ll either treat them well, earn their trust, respect and loyalty, or you won’t. You’ll either see people as capital to be leveraged or humans to be developed and fulfilled. You’ll either view yourself as superior to your employees, or as one whose job it is to serve them, learn from them, and leave them be better off for being led by you.
The best leaders don’t put people in a box – they free them from boxes. Ultimately, a leaders job isn’t to create followers, but to strive for ubiquitous leadership. Average leaders spend time scaling processes, systems, and models – great leaders focus on scaling leadership.

Migori Governor Okoth Obado loses seat

The Court of Appeal has nullified the election of Okoth Obado as the Migori Governor.
A three-judge bench sitting in Kisumu decided on Friday that the tallying errors realised in the election compromised the quality of an election that aspirants and voters in Migori County deserved.
The case originated from a petition filed at the High Court by Mr Obado's rival Edward Oyugi (ODM).
Prof Oyugi lost his bid to overturn the election last year when Homa Bay-based judge Esther Maina said that, even though there were tallying errors realised in a court recount and admitted by the IEBC, there weren't enough reasons to overturn the election.
But the Appellate Court said it was improper for the High Court to find that there were inaccuracies caused by the negligence of IEBC then make a 360-degree-turn and say the election was free and fair.
The court brushed off IEBC's defence that the errors were due to human error and said that such an excuse should not be used as a blanket defence for a carelessly conducted process.

Justice Festus Azangalala said Outa committed the offence by allowing Geoffrey Yogo who was the CDF official to be his chief agent. He was also found guilty of using CDF funds to campaign. Why is Education the Key to Success Have you ever given thought to the question, why is education the key to success in life? In this article, I have elucidated the benefits of having a decent education and what role it plays in molding a man of character, who is better equipped to succeed in life and who has the ability to comprehend what true success means.

Everyone of us is a bundle of unique gifts and talents. Our relative success in life depends on how much we believe in ourselves, trust our own private genius, nurture it and let it grow freely. What education does is that it provides us with the opportunity to unravel and realize our inborn talents, while providing us with the skills of thinking and solving problems on our own. Both education and success are relative concepts in the sense that there is a wide difference of opinion regarding what is real education and what is real success.

What is Real Education?

Real education is the one which enables you to think for yourself and apply what you have learned. Purely knowing facts and being able to effectively remember and recall them isn't being educated. To be educated is being able to make your own decisions and form your own opinions about things. It is the imparting of skills that enable you to succeed in any field of human endeavor and make your original contribution. What good education requires is a one-to-one interaction between a good teacher and student.

There are two factors of education which must mold two different aspects of the human psyche - one is analytical intelligence and the other is emotional intelligence. The former deals with the ability to solve technical problems while the latter deals with the ability to empathize, communicate, connect with our fellow human beings. A wholesome education system must educate both these facets of the human psyche to mold a character with all the abilities required to live a happy and successful life.

Why is Education the Key to Success

Man is what his thoughts make him. Education provides direction to these thoughts. Success is more than just accumulation of material wealth. I believe that success is not a destination but a never ending journey in self exploration. It is unlocking your true potential to make your life itself a work of art. Success has more than one dimensions to it. Acquiring material wealth is not the only one. To what degree have you conquered your self and achieved liberation from wanting and needing things is another indicator of success. Education plays a large role in determining our potential for achieving this success. Here are some of the prime arguments supporting the idea of education as the veritable key to success. YOUNG LEADERS IN KAJULU MUST READ THIS HAVE THEY FALLEN A PREY TO FAILLED LEADERSHIP

Leadership is responsible for everything the organization does or fails to do. Leadership is more than a wooden figurehead. A leader is not a position, job title, or in this case, the captain of the ship. Leadership is not about power, ego or pride. Leadership is ever-present, touching, motivating, talking, checking and removing barriers, training, preparing, breathing and moving about. This reminds me of young leaders who are showing interest in leadership (KAJULU) they have different names from A-Z   and i must say this are they serious leaders ask my friend (ojuka jakede) from kajulu?? people like (otieno lare) but they are worried of the trend of leadership which seems to inherit the same old leadership skills of failures in recent past we read about many names like ORICHO,s ) but my worries is are they playing a game on behalf of someones pocket? this young leaders to me seems to enjoy the failure in kajulu as if i may quote (Jacob oricho) he is always a defender of kisumu failed Governor Ranguma who has brought tears in the face of kajulu since he was elected .I expected to hear young leadership of kajulu criticizes the bad leadership and putting the current leaders on there knee's to delivered to the people? this is not the case in kajulu ,the young leaders only join hand with failures it's a pity can we have these leaders who will push for the peoples views today yes we can. ? Stop listening to toxic people.

toxic people are convinced that everything is impossible, and they are quick to shoot down ideas. They’ll poison your mind into a state of hopelessness.
Don’t let them steal your energy just because they’ve lost theirs.
Instead, surround yourself with supportive and passionate people who can both inspire you and bring out the best in you. You can find them among friends, family, books, or blogs like Tiny Buddha.
They will lift you up when you feel down and help you see the bright side of your darkest fears and doubts.

If you accidentally overhear some stuff that doesn't concern you, don't spread it around. It might be fun news for others, but you might be hurting someone. Act oblivious to some incidents or as if nothing was overheard and get back to your work.

When a person is humble enough to accept that other people are eligible to have their own viewpoint, that person is minding his own business. In the modern world, every human is born free and is free to choose how he wants to live his life and that should be nobody else's business unless that person is morally or socially wrong. After all, the world's a democracy and that way, everyone is allowed to slap a person who has forgotten to mind your own business

As I said, minding your own business needs a lot of humbleness, politeness and respect for the other human being. It needs an understanding on your part, that the other person is an individual with his particular set of choices, and he/she is free to follow his/her choices. You need to understand that you are not always right and playing Miss Know-It-All or Mr. Know-It-All will take you nowhere and will in fact, take the other people away from you. So, the mantra is "Live and Let Live". If you think you are the goddess of fashion or a finance guru, keep it to yourself, because you know what, the world doesn't care and nobody has the time to listen to you bragging and boasting. Also, you may not always find a humble listener. So, beware of witty comebacks before you open your mouth.

All my growing years, I have come across various people who lack the quality of humbleness. And I have noted that these people are somehow obsessed with boasting and also hint low self-esteem. Otherwise, why do you need to be so loud when making a point so that the whole of the room notices you and not just the person you are talking to. Or why do you need to say sentences like, 'why are you wearing this dress' or 'I got a job, pays big bucks, blah blah', when all the other person is doing is playing friends with you.
