Formula One: Maria De Villota found dead

Former Formula 1 reserve driver Maria de Villota, 33, was found dead in a hotel room in Seville, president of the Spanish Automobile Federation, Carlos Garcia has confirmed.I have just found out. Barasa petition referred to High Court principal judge

The petition challenging the constitutionality of International Criminal Court arrest warrant against journalist Walter Barasa has been referred to the High Court Principal Judge.

Attorney General Githu Muigai and Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko had filed a suit wanting Mr Barasa's petition heard together with the request for his arrest by the ICC.

The application for his arrest was made to High Court principal judge Justice Richard Mwongo by Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph ole Lenku.

Mr Justice George Odunga ruled against a separate hearings for the two cases on Friday, referring Barasa's application to Judge Mwongo for consideration.

Mr Barasa through his lawyer Kibe Mungai had opposed the applications to have his petition heard together, arguing that they entailed separate and distinctive issues for determination.

But Mr Tobiko Thursday argued that it would be against the practice of good order if two applications touching on the same subject matter were heard by two different judges of similar jurisdiction.

“The request for arrest and extradition of Mr Barasa is now seized by the principal judge, and since it is a rule of prudence that similar case cannot run concurrently before two different judges, it is our view that the application is premature and should be heard when the proceedings for his arrest begins,” said Mr Kamula.

Lawyer Wilfred Nderitu, for victims of the 2007/08 post-election violence in the ICC case against Deputy President William Ruto and former broadcaster Joshua arap Sang, also supported the move to have the matters heard together.

Pounding headache? Séx could cure what ails you just as well as medication, a new study from the University of Munster finds.
Researchers recruited 800 migraine sufferers and 200 cluster headache sufferers. While findings are preliminary, results showed that more than half of the migraine sufferers said their pain subsided after a bout of passion with their partners. Their research was reported in Cephalalgia, the journal of the International Headache Society.
The researchers suggested that séx triggers the release of endorphins, the body's natural painkillers, which can reduce, or even eliminate, a headache. While headaches have long been used as an excuse for not having séx, the researchers reported that the male subjects in particular used séx as a "therapeutic tool."
"Our results show that séxual activity during a migraine attack might relieve or even stop an attack in some cases, and that séxual activity in the presence of headache is not an unusual behavior," the researchers wrote.
"Séx can abort migraine and cluster headache attacks, and sexual activity is used by some patients as acute headache treatment."

Norway says its citizen may have taken part in Westgate attack

Norway said on Thursday that one of its citizens may have been involved in the attack on a Kenyan shopping mall last month which killed at least 67 people and was claimed by Somali Islamist militants.
More than two weeks after the mall assault, the worst attack on Kenyan soil since al Qaeda bombed the U.S. Embassy in 1998, it remains unclear how many gunmen were involved and what their nationalities were.
Kenyan government officials at the time of the raid said 10-15 militants had stormed the upscale mall, but so far only four have been named. Witnesses have said some of the gunmen may have escaped the building early on in the four-day stand-off with the military.
Norwegian investigators were now in the Kenyan capital Nairobi, Norway's police security service, known as PST, said.
"PST has received information that a Norwegian citizen of Somali origin may have been involved in the planning and execution of the attack, and PST decided to initiate an investigation on this basis," PST said in a statement.
Somalia's al Qaeda-linked al Shabaab rebels have said they staged the attack as an act of revenge for Kenya's military campaign in the Horn of Africa nation to help neutralize al Shabaab and restore order there after two decades of anarchy.
Jan Glent, a PST section leader, told Norway's private broadcaster TV2 that he could not rule out "more Norway-linked suspects".
U.S. special forces carried out a raid on the Somali town of Barawe, a rebel stronghold south of the capital  Mogadishu, on Saturday to capture a militant commander linked to multiple plots against Kenya. The mission failed after the Navy SEALS retreated under heavy gunfire.
U.S. officials identified the target as Ikrima, the nom de guerre of Abdikadar Mohamed Abdikadar who Kenyan and Western security agencies say was a go-between for commanders of al Shabaab with al Qaeda and Kenya's home-bred militants.
Earlier this week, Norwegian TV2 reported Ikrima travelled to Norway where he applied for asylum, but left in 2008 before there was a decision on his application. When in Norway, he lived in the Oslo area but visited Somalia, the channel said.
